A 23-year-old man from Durres was arrested while transporting 6 foreign citizens

Operations continue to capture persons involved in the illegal activity of providing assistance for illegal border crossing.

A 23-year-old man was arrested by police during an operation conducted yesterday evening in Devoll.

The operation was conducted by the Trafficking Section and the Economic and Financial Crime Section at the Korça Police Department, as part of the operational-investigative work to crack down on cases of assistance for illegal border crossing.

Police sources indicate that Klajdi Muça, from the city of Durrës, was arrested, who was driving a Benz type vehicle, and during the search of the blue uniforms, 6 illegal immigrants were found inside the vehicle. The latter were Sudanese citizens, who were suspected of being transported towards Tirana, with the aim of crossing the country.

According to information, it is learned that for this activity, the 23-year-old is suspected of earning 600 to 700 euros per person.

The vehicle, a quantity of money and several mobile phones have been seized as material evidence. In the meantime, work continues to fully document the incident and identify other persons who may have been involved.
