A serious road accident has claimed the life of a 43-year-old man on the Maqellarë-Peshkopi road. The vehicle in which citizen Bledar Spahiu was traveling went off the road and ended up several meters below, overturning.

The vehicle collision was severe, causing serious injuries to the driver. Initially, he was transported to the Dibra regional hospital, but then it was decided to be urgently sent to the Trauma hospital in the capital. However, the numerous injuries to the body caused Bledar Spahiu to lose his life in the helicopter.

The victim was a father of two and an employee of the Dibër fire department. At the time of the accident, the 43-year-old was on his way to Peshkopia to join firefighters battling a blaze in the Lura National Park.

After the accident, traffic police arrived at the scene, and work is underway to determine the causes of the fatal accident. It is initially suspected that the cause was excessive speeding.
