The court hearing on the Veliaj case was held with debates.

Warden Fation Baci was assigned a primary lawyer, Pranvera Doci, after his lawyer was absent from the April 1st session.

This moment sparked debate in court, while lawyer MAks Haxhia, who is defending Ajola Xoxa in this process, said that the process is becoming ridiculous. He added that legal counsel Pranvera Doci is not familiar with the investigative file.

Maks Haxhia :  I am legitimate to follow the law. The lawyers you have appointed are familiar with the investigation file, right? So the legal representative Pranvera Doci is appointed primarily for Fatjon Barci. We want to have a process, not just to have a lawyer. Please, prosecutor, let me finish. Because the process is getting ridiculous.

Ols Dado addresses Max Haxhi :  You are not the president of the chamber, sir, you are the defendant's lawyer. Are you ordering me to speak here or am I not speaking?

Engjëllushe Tahiri:  Both you and Maks Haxhia defend defendants in court. You may have other titles, but here you are only legal counsel.

Meanwhile, Erion Veliaj's lawyer, Plarent Ndreca, said that the entire 60,000-page file has not yet been made available to him electronically and that he is still appearing in court to read it. According to him, files 142 to 166 (i.e. 24 files) are missing and added that this process risks violating the European Convention.

Plarent Ndreca:  You are the ones who decide. Everything that is here is because of the Erion Veliaj trial. And the qualities of a lawyer cannot be stopped if a problem is seen. I have asked you for a schedule for when I will come to court and consult the file. On 26/03 I started studying the file and I was told that electronic files will come. I was physically in court to gain time and to read 60 thousand pages and 1 thousand and more pieces of evidence. Files from 142 to 166 are missing. I want to examine what is missing from this file. There is a risk that this process will conflict with the European Convention.
