After Erion Ismaili was suspended by SPAK order as Tirana's deputy police director, Besmir Dervishi was appointed in his place.

Dervishi was previously the head of Police Station No. 3 and was then transferred as the head of Police Station No. 5, where he stayed for about 1 month before moving on to become the head of the sector at the Tirana Police Directorate.
