Almost at the same time as the hearing for his client Erion Veliaj, Plarent Ndreca was also at his trial. The case where Ndreca is accused of “Violation of equality of tender participants” in his capacity as Secretary General of the Ministry of Interior, was postponed after he appeared in the Special Appeal as the defense attorney chosen by the socialist mayor of Tirana.

Today, the Appeals Chamber examines the issue of Veliaj's detention terms.

As Ndreca's lawyer, Ermal Yzeiraj, was not present at the hearing, the hearing was postponed to May 19, at 9:00 AM.

The former socialist legislator is accused of the period 2019 - 2020, when Ndreca, in his capacity as Secretary General of the Ministry, is suspected of having benefited from the tender for the reconstruction of four police stations in the country.

He was reported by the Supreme State Audit, which, after an audit, found inflated real public procurement costs, which included the Mirdita police station, police station no. 4 in the capital, and those of Vlora and Pogradec.
