The Prosecutor's Office of Vlora has completed the investigation into the tragic death of 7-year-old Jonada Avdiaj , who crashed to death with a speedboat on August 2, 2022, and has filed charges against 9 defendants.

The former head of the Community Policing Section in Elbasan,  Arjan Tase , is accused of the criminal offense of "intentional murder" indirectly.

The Vlora Prosecutor's Office completes the investigation into the incident in Himara where the minor JA lost her life, the charges against the 9 defendants

The Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of Vlorë, has completed the investigations for the criminal proceedings no. 918/2022, the acts of which refer to the criminal offense of "Deliberate murder" and "Abuse of duty" provided for by article 76 and 248 of the Criminal Code.

The criminal fact refers to the event dated 02.08.2022, which happened in the area of ​​Potam, Himare, where the minor JA died, as a result of the collision by the watercraft MERCURI, NENA 154, which was driven by the citizen AT

The investigation showed that the incident occurred as a result of the driver of the boat, a citizen of AT, not respecting the designated (restricted) area for swimmers, as well as the wrong maneuver in driving the vehicle.

The investigations are focused on the responsible institutions charged with the implementation of security on the beaches during the tourist season, specifically the Himarë Municipality, the Himarë Police Station as well as the Local Border and Migration Directorate Vlorë, taking as defendants the following citizens:

AT, for the criminal offense of "Deliberate murder" indirectly provided by Article 76 of the Criminal Code;

FM, acting head of the border sector in the Vlora Local Border and Migration Directorate, accused of the criminal offense of "Abuse of duty" provided for by Article 248 of the Criminal Code;

NB, station chief at the Border Police Station, Dhërmi, in the border sector of the Local Directorate for Borders and Migration, Vlora, accused of the criminal offense of "Misuse of duty" provided for by Article 248 of the Criminal Code;

LA, BM . and KH, with the duty of service troops in the BP06 vessel, in charge of the coastal patrol at the Dhërmi Border Police Station, Vlora, accused of the criminal offense of "Misuse of duty" provided for by Article 248 of the Criminal Code;

AD with order specialist duties at the Himar Police Station, accused of the criminal offense of "Dereliction of duty" provided for by Article 248 of the Criminal Code; AND

BA and AB, in charge and employees of the Municipal Police in Himarë Municipality, accused of the criminal offense of "Abuse of duty" provided for by Article 248 of the Criminal Code as employees who performed periodic checks at the scene of the incident.
