DP announces protest on the day of the European Summit, but police refuse permission

The Democratic Party has been denied its request to hold the protest called for May 16, the day that coincides with the European Political Summit to be held in the capital.

Tirana Police have responded negatively to the protest, explaining that it is not allowed due to the security perimeter established for the summit.

Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha said that the protest would be peaceful, with the aim of raising international awareness about electoral crimes.
