After Rama's request, the directors of the Municipality of Durres resign

A wave of resignations has swept the Municipality of Durrës, where key directors of departments and heads of administrative units have submitted their resignations.

The move comes just a few days after the massive dismissals in the Municipality of Vlora and strong warnings from Prime Minister Edi Rama for a deep "self-cleansing" in the local administration, in function of the announced reform for the development and control of the territory.

A commission established by the Municipality of Durrës is expected to decide in the coming days which of the resignations will be accepted and which leaders will remain in office.
