Hundreds of citizens have gathered this evening in "Skënderbej" square in Tirana, in a festive ceremony that is expected to culminate with the lighting of the New Year's tree.

A children's choir opened the festivities with Christmas songs, while the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, was also present.

The New Year's tree is transformed every year-end into an attraction for tens of thousands of citizens who take pictures next to it, while this year too, in the main square of Tirana there will be no shortage of small wooden lodges that will offer various services to the visitors.
