Nikulaj was killed for blood feud/ Reconciler of blood: The quarrel started over

The murder of the local businessman and politician in Lezhë, Ardian Nikulaj, once again brought back the old phenomenon of blood feud in Albanian society.

The feud between the Nikulaj and Lekstakaj tribes in Balldre of Lezha has its origins in 1996, when Pëllumb Nikulaj was killed who intervened to quell a fight at a gas station on the outskirts of the city of Lezha.

Something like this is made known by the missionary of Blood Reconciliation Pjeter Gjoka, according to whom everything started from the Lekstakaj tribe, but after 2005 the situation between them had calmed down.

" The event started somewhere in the 97th for a momentary conflict regarding a fuel bill. That's where the fight started and to continue after that. But what I want to emphasize, yesterday I was called on the phone, I gave a short interview and my answer was misinterpreted. The part I want to clarify is that the blood feud has started from the side of the Lekstakaj. They started a fight with another, Nikulaj's son shot nearby and went to separate them. And they killed both of them with guns "- said the blood reconciler.

The Missionaries of Blood Reconciliation have been aware of these clashes between the two tribes, but no attempt has been made to intervene to reconcile, as something like this was not requested by either side, says Gjoka.

"During this time, the chaos of 1997 still has a series of events that have been left silent. I did not have any information even after the continuation of this conflict. I have not dealt with this issue. I know this, that after 2005 there has been a calm between these tribes, we have had no worries. We trusted this calm. I have not discussed this topic with Ardian Nikulajn, and he has not asked me to intervene in any case. We Albanians are condemned by history to go to this wound" - said Gjoka.

Businessman Ardian Nikulaj was executed at noon on April 19 inside his bar on the first line of the coast of Shengjin. Thanks to the quick investigative actions, the police under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office of Lezha managed to clarify and document the incident which happened for blood feud, declaring looking for 6 people, 5 of whom are foreign nationals.
