The Council of Ministers held its next meeting today, where it approved a series of decisions affecting various areas of economic and social life in the country.

The focus of the discussions were territorial development projects, support for farmers, and changes in the legal framework of social security.

The government decided to approve the compensation measure for owners of animals affected by the plague of small ruminants during 2025.

According to the decision, the government will make available a fund of 53,345,500 lek to all owners of animals that were slaughtered or eliminated during 2025.

This fund aims to cover the losses of livestock farmers whose animals tested positive for the infectious disease, based on rigorous analyses conducted by the Food Safety and Veterinary Institute (ISUV). The decision comes as a necessary measure to ease the financial burden on rural households and to guarantee the continuity of the livestock sector.

Changes were also approved in the regulation for the operation of beach resorts, on the eve of the summer tourist season. Another decision was to charge the Albanian Development Fund with the implementation of the preliminary phase of the “Faith Park” project.

The meeting also decided to create the Green Tree Fund, which aims to develop public spaces and protect the environment. The government also gave its opinion on the non-governmental draft law "On Social Security in the Republic of Albania".

The Media and Information Agency informs you of the decisions adopted at today's government meeting dated 13.05.2026 as follows:

The Council of Ministers decided:

-Approval for determining the amount of damage compensation to owners for animals slaughtered, eliminated, destroyed, buried due to plague of small ruminants in 2025.

-Approval of the Regulation "On the conditions and criteria for exercising the activity of the beach station", as amended.

 -Assigning the Albanian Development Fund as the contracting authority for the implementation of the preliminary phase of the "Faith Park" project

-The creation, operation and administration of the Green Tree Fund, within the framework of the development of the territory and public spaces

-Providing an opinion to the Parliament of the Republic of Albania on the non-governmental draft law "On social security in the Republic of Albania", as amended".
