The Italian prosecution has requested life imprisonment for Selami Bodi, the Albanian who in October of last year killed his wife Etleva Bodi by drowning her as a result of the many conflicts they had due to jealousy.

"The board must be declared responsible for all the facts recorded against it", said Italian prosecutor Giovanni Battista Ferro.

The investigations revealed the conversations of the couple and after the analysis of the mobile phones, it was proved that the victim had been physically abused by her husband in the past as well. On October 3 and 4, Etleva sent a message to the Board three YouTube videos in the Albanian language with prayers that dealt with the topics "how to be a good man in the Islamic religion, "not to humiliate a woman" and "how to treat a woman well yours".

In subsequent meetings in Albania with her family, where an imam was also present, she had made it clear that she wanted to separate and not return with him. But then her husband apologized and they returned to Italy.

The prosecutor focused on several messages, in which Etleva said "I will tell what I suffered, because you beat me repeatedly"; "You sent me to the hospital and I continued to endure"; "I'd rather die."

According to testimony during the trial, the woman had been kept away from her family, and with her husband's Islamic radicalization, she would be allowed virtually nothing in terms of dress (for two years she had not even used a mobile phone ).

"The board is guilty of ill-treatment, it humiliated him! Abuse is a compound crime. This is the proof of the murder" - he continued - "it is a crime for which Selamiu never apologized".

The Italian media write that the lawyers of the Albanian defendant asked for extenuating circumstances for their client.

The serious event that happened last year shocked Albanian public opinion, as the brother of the 31-year-old, Etleva Bodi, who left behind 4 children, asked for help to bring his sister's dead body to Albania.
