Over 34 thousand dead in Turkey and Syria/ Today is a day of national mourning,

Today is a day of national mourning in Albania, as a sign of solidarity for Turkey, which stood by our country when we were shocked by the earthquake of November 26, 2019.

The decision was taken by the Albanian government, as a result of the powerful earthquakes that were registered in Turkey and Syria, where so far over 34 thousand victims, thousands of injured and flattened cities have been confirmed.

In an extraordinary meeting, the government decided that today the flags will be lowered to half-mast in honor of the victims of the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria.

Earlier, Kosovo also stood in solidarity with Turkey and Syria and announced February 8 as a day of mourning.

Likewise, February 13 will be a day of national mourning in North Macedonia as well.
