The CEC has suspended all preparations for the elections in Tirana, after the Constitutional Court suspended Bajram Begaj's decree following Erion Veliaj's appeal. The head of the CEC, Ilirjan Celibashi, said that they cannot take any action, as it is a matter of the Constitutional Court's competence to decide on Veliaj's appeal.
Celibashi said that preparations will continue for the elections in 5 other municipalities on November 9.
"It has been suspended since yesterday. On November 9, it is certain that elections will be held for the other 5 municipalities, excluding the municipality of Tirana," he said.
