When the Durrës police reported the murder of Pëllumb Meta on Friday morning, few could have imagined that this crime would lead to his three children behind bars, and would continue to be surrounded by mystery about the motive that led to the serious crime .

The appearance before the court of Hysen, Hygerta and Amarildo Meta was awaited with interest. On Friday morning, the 19-year-old claimed that she was the author of the murder. In the afternoon, her older brother, 24-year-old Hysen Meta, took over the murder.

But this Monday, the latter, in a turn that seems to have surprised even the prosecutor and the judge of the case, he said that the author was his sister. Journalist Enkeleda Arapi said in an interview for Klan News, that their testimonies surprised not a little even the prosecutor and the judge herself.

"It was a surprise for both the prosecutor and the judge, when he was asked about the motive and the way he committed the murder, he said that there is no motive, as he is not the author and the author is someone else, affirming that it was his sister. This version change is not known, as earlier he had given enough valuable details that led to the clarification of the event. This whole version fell apart in court. His statement was later corroborated, which claimed that she was the one who shot his father."

The journalist even adds that the 3 Meta children have played the "game" of changing testimonies in several cases. Another mystery that accompanies this serious event is the motive of the crime. The children have given several versions, from violence, authoritarian behavior to the imposition that, according to them, the 50-year-old father wanted to do to Hygerta, forcing her to marry against her will. After the arrest, the investigators put all 3 in the isolation room, in order to understand who was the author and what was the motive. At least officially, the journalist says that even here the authorities have not been able to discover valuable data.

"Something strange is happening with the 3 children, not only at the moment when their respective testimonies are taken, either by the police, the prosecution, or that the respective lawyers appointed mainly, had communicated, had a different version of the event. Even when they were together in the isolation room, in order for the police to discover the exact motive of the event rather than the perpetrator. Because even in the moments we are talking about, we do not have a clarity of the motive, of the serious crime that happened in the Meta family. He has not been able to find out exactly who the perpetrator is, as from time to time, the older brother and sister blame each other, just as it happened in court. Where the younger brother was excluded from the event, claiming that he did not know if his father used violence against his mother, sister, saying that he was at work and at the moment when I arrived home, the father was at work as he worked as a watchman at night. And this meant that there was no frequent contact. As for the other two children, it remains really interesting, and perhaps one of the strangest that from time to time one takes the blame and then passes it on to the other".

Reported as missing since February 13, Pëllumb Meta's body was found buried in the shed of his house on February 22. He was executed with a firearm in the house of the Meta family, in Shënavlash, Durrës, 3 days before the eldest son reported his father's disappearance to the police. All three of his children were put in handcuffs, one as the author and the others as collaborators. However, as long as their role has not been clarified, it remains to be seen what the charges will be against them.
