Libohova Mayor Leonard Hide appeared this Monday at SPAK to familiarize himself with the investigative acts of the prosecution, after the file was returned by the GJKKO for additional investigations.

Hide signed the document acknowledging him with the acts, while it is expected that the special prosecution will once again request the first instance court to transfer the file against the mayor for trial.

The socialist mayor is accused by SPAK of having committed the criminal offense of "abuse of office" in connection with the cultivation of cannabis plots, at the time when he held the position of chief of crimes in the Gjirokastra police.

The cannabis parcels for which Hide and other local police officers are accused were discovered during an operation by the Internal Affairs and Complaints Service of the Gjirokastra Prosecution Office.
