The Iranian media have echoed a news threatening to Albania. In the "Iran Front Page" portal, it is written that this country has drones that can hit the base of the MEK mujahedin in Albania. An Iranian government newspaper is also quoted in the article.
"An Iranian state newspaper says the country possesses unmanned aerial vehicles. UAV drones avoid radars. They could be used to hit the base of the anti-Iran terrorist group Mujahedin Khalq (MKO) in Albania.
"Iran's drone or missile capabilities are not limited to the geographical area of neighboring countries. On the contrary, Iran enjoys so many capabilities in the aerospace sector, especially in the field of drones, that it can easily target the MKO base in Tirana", - writes the official newspaper of the government, Iran.
"Iran has secret suicide and combat drones. They can travel beyond the distance between Iran and Albania and hit the target," added the daily.
The government's official gazette also touched on a statement issued by Iran's Ministry of Intelligence. It highlights the role of MKO in the recent riots in several Iranian cities. In the statement, the ministry announced that some of the arrested protesters are members of the MKO.
"Under international law, when a terrorist group openly threatens the security of a country and openly acknowledges its actions, that country has a legitimate right to target the base and members of that group. Exactly something similar to what happened in the northern region of Iraq against the terrorist groups stationed there. Or what happened against the ISIS terrorist group in Syria," the Iranian newspaper noted.
In other words, the paper adds, Iran reserves the right, because of the terrorist acts of the MKO, to target their base. The MKO terrorist group was forced to leave Iraq in 2016 after facing opposition from the Iraqi government and people and settled in Albania as planned by the US.
What the newspaper does not say is that Albania is a NATO country. In case of such an attack, the entire alliance would be engaged./ Iran Front Page
