A football match was held at the Maliq Stadium in memory of 12-year-old Leo Sadiku who lost his life at the QSUT on January 8.
Leo's team played Skënderbeg's team. The 12-year-old's family and friends were also present.
Leo's mother, Roveta Sadiku, accompanied by her husband and daughter, has accused doctors of negligence, while revealing that she did not agree to an autopsy on her son.
" I haven't received an answer yet, all the things I've heard on social media, what the QSUT has said, have been lies. I have the answer myself as a mother because I saw from beginning to end what happened to my Leo. Total negligence by the medical profession, starting from Korça to Tirana.
I am asking for justice for this, only justice for my Leo. Many other children can go like my Leo, because they took Leo for granted, did not treat him properly, neglected Leo. They lied to Leo's mother and told him he had a virus. They only did two abdominal ultrasounds and an X-ray and 3 tests, that's all they did to my Leo. They took Leo out with a high temperature in Tirana, Leo did not go with a high temperature, Leo did not have high blood pressure when he went to Tirana, because I took him out of the intensive care unit in Korça and took him there.
They took him out with myocardial infarction when my Leo didn't even have an echo done for his heart. It's all lies. They put him in a ward, but it wasn't a ward, it was a prison, what a state, what conditions.
We were giving Leo cold serums, when I went I found him with bruised hands, they said he had a cold. I told them Leo was excreting a lot of what they said he would excrete, we would give him serum.
Until he went into critical condition and then I remember a group of doctors, asked for an ambulance to come, in the last moments, what would they do to my Leo in those moments when for 7 hours in a row they didn't give him any help. That child has been vomiting for 7 hours, let that doctor come in front of me, he has been vomiting blood while she said it was remnants of the stomach mucosa. It wasn't remnants but blood because I have a photo.
What did you do to my child??? Like here and there on all 4 sides nothing was done for my Leo.
We filed a report and denunciation at the Maliq police station, we sent the documentation and they told us the prosecutor's office would call us, but 16 days have passed and no one has remembered about Leo.
It seems like negligence to me.
When Leo passed away, in a serious psychological state, I asked them not to touch Leo, I didn't allow anyone to approach him because they were exhausting me, killing me little by little, and I told them I didn't want an autopsy to be performed.
Leo's autopsy wasn't done because Leo verbally asked me not to cut me open or operate on me, my heart couldn't take it.
The police didn't even come there, nothing because I didn't know these existed, now I'm hearing that the autopsy had to be done with or without my consent.
However, whatever the diagnosis, I want justice for the neglect that was done to my son.
Leo was an angel, energetic, who didn't want to see tears in his mother's eyes. My mother can't help but cry for you, son, as I look at this field, as I look at your friends.
"If the state doesn't take action, if the state doesn't move, I will protest, I won't let it go like it's the last day of my life," she declared.
Meanwhile, the sister of the deceased 12-year-old was moved by the words about Leo, while stating that she does not want the state to play with his soul.
"My brother played for the last time on this field on December 28th. I don't want the state to play with my brother's soul. I want justice and for it to be the first time at least that we raise our voices and not remain silent for all the children," she said.
The coach of the team that Leo was part of also spoke about the case. Robert Këndezi said that Leo was a healthy child, and that upon his acceptance into the team, the necessary tests had been performed.
" Today, in memory of the footballer Leo, we will organize the Maliqi-Skënderbeu match to remember that excellent athlete, a good boy, dedicated to sports. An educated, tireless boy, a good striker. Leo was a boy from Pocesta, here near Maliqi and came to training every day, he was never absent even on days when it was difficult that I would inform him on the phone that we will not play today because it is a bad time and the field is not good, he would say: Professor, don't give us a break. He loved sports very much. He was absolutely a strong boy. Not only us as Maliqi's team but every team does tests on everyone, we do not accept children without doing the tests. He was a very healthy child ", he declared./Ballkanweb
