Renowned programmer and IT expert, Genti Progni, stood for about six hours before the SPAK investigative group and prosecutors this Monday.

He appeared at the institution this morning, as part of investigations related to the suspected criminal scheme at the National Information Society Agency.

Upon leaving the SPAK premises, Progni preferred not to provide details regarding his testimony or the matter being investigated, briefly stating that it is an investigative secret.

"It is really an investigative secret and I cannot give any statement at the moment. I am probably both a complainant and a person under investigation. I would not like to give it today, I am also a little tired," he said.

Progni is among the public figures who have consistently denounced the abuse of tenders and favors given to several businessmen connected to the institution's leadership, even before SPAK arrived there.

An extensive investigation by the Special Prosecution Office, conducted in cooperation with the National Bureau of Investigation, revealed a suspected criminal scheme to manipulate public tenders of the National Agency for the Information Society, through pressure, violence and illegal deprivation of liberty.

According to SPAK, the investigation led to the imposition of security measures for eight people, by decision of the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime.

Among the people against whom measures were imposed are Mirlinda Karçanaj, head of ANA, and deputy director Hava Delibashi.

At the center of the investigation are Ergys Agasi and businessman Ermal Beqiri, who are accused of several serious criminal offenses, including illegal competition through violence, violation of equality in tenders, illegal deprivation of liberty, participation in a structured criminal group, and laundering the proceeds of crime.
