Footage has emerged of the moment when American tourist Brandon Saporito left the rented apartment in Shkodra where he killed his roommate and was escorted to an ambulance by police.

He suffered minor injuries to his hands caused by cutting tools, and was taken to the hospital where his life is in danger.

The victim has been identified as an American citizen with the initials SS, around 53 years old.

Police announcement:

"Around 10:15, on "At Shtjefën Gjeçovi" street, in a rented apartment, it is suspected that the American citizen, SS, was murdered with a cutting instrument."

Her cohabitant, an American citizen, was found in the apartment, and is suspected of being the perpetrator of the murder. This citizen was taken to the hospital for medical assistance, as he is suspected of being intoxicated and has minor injuries to his hands from cutting tools.

"The investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, is working to clarify the circumstances and legally document the case," the police informed.
