Following the recommendation of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection in the Real Estate Sector, Top News contacted Reinaldo Pipiria, the Executive Director of NAREA. In its reaction, Pipiria stresses that the real estate sector is fully aware of the problems observed by the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection, which have resulted after monitoring the way the real estate market operates.
Since the real estate market was legally regulated a few years ago, such problems still remain to be resolved and to be in the special focus of real estate offices – pipiria emphasizes. Among other things, the Commissioner sought to take concrete measures in the framework of training employees who have access and process personal data.
In addition to the full agreement to tighten the measures for the storage of personal data, analyzing the situation in a broader panorama, Pipiria says that it should also work towards the full formalization of this sector, so that the informal competition and the tightening of legal obligations does not discourage business that moves in every step in accordance with the legal framework in force and pays the economic obligations.
