Tiana Krasniqi , a 31-year-old British woman of Albanian origin, has decided to get engaged to James Broadnax, who is on death row in Texas for the 2008 murders of two music producers and is scheduled to be executed on April 30.

Although they have never met physically, Tiana and Broadnax have built a deep relationship through letters and phone conversations.

Their story began in October 2024, when Tiana wrote to Broadnax to gather information for a research project on racial disparities and controversial practices in the American judicial system. She had no idea that this interaction would lead to a romantic relationship.

The exchange of messages and phone conversations quickly turned into an intense emotional relationship, giving Tiana strong feelings for the convict.

To be closer to her fiancé, Tiana has left London and moved to Houston. She works as a receptionist and studies law, while engaging in a campaign against the death penalty, demanding the reversal of Broadnax's execution.

Although their relationship has sparked criticism and surprise, Tiana insists that her feelings are sincere and have nothing to do with Broadnax's dramatic situation.

The couple have planned a short wedding ceremony inside the prison, with a glass partition, that will last about 15 minutes. Their relationship has also had a significant impact on Tiana's personal life: she has been away from her 9-year-old daughter, who lives in the UK with her father.

However, Tiana says she believes in her decision and is willing to face the challenges of dating a death row inmate.

Broadnax's case has sparked widespread debate, especially after his cousin recently claimed he may have been solely responsible for the crime, raising doubts about Broadnax's guilt. Concerns about racial bias in the trial have also been raised, adding further complexity to their story.

Tiana has stated that, if the execution is carried out, she wants to be by Broadnax's side at the last moment to show her love.
