An Albanian in England was placed under investigation, by the English Ministry of Internal Affairs Home Office, for the method of obtaining British citizenship. Taulant Omi claims that the investigation started as revenge, since he was one of the organizers of the protest of the Albanian community in Britain in front of the parliament at the end of last year.
This is Taulant Omi, one of the organizers of the protest of the Albanian community in front of the English parliament at the end of last year.
Omi told Top Channel that he was investigated by the Home Office over how he had obtained British citizenship.
"This was a revenge for my role in organizing the protest. I have no idea that this investigation started before the protest since I traveled freely outside of England with the British passport until November," declared Taulant Omi in a telephone conversation with Top Channel.

This is the letter sent to Taulant Omit on January 26, 2023 by the citizenship investigations department, in the English ministry of internal affairs Home Office, where it is said that the Secretary for Internal Affairs has considered the removal of British citizenship.
In this letter it is emphasized that the British Embassy in Tirana has made verifications for this case and it turns out that Taulant Omi was born in Shkodër.
"However, the British Secretary of State has decided not to revoke your British citizenship and that you must change the information on your citizenship certificate."
Through a Facebook status, Taulant Omi has published this letter, commenting that the Home Office was set in motion for this investigation by some Albanians in Great Britain, who wanted to take undeserved credit for organizing the protest.
An immigration lawyer in England who has represented in court many cases of Albanians who have been stripped of their British citizenship, told Top Channel that the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Home Office, is reviewing the policy of stripping British citizenship, and that the new policies are expected to be made public in the following days./ TCH
