A police patrol was stationed on "7 marsi" street in Tirana. It was one of the routine days where the police wait for vehicles that break the rules, or check suspicious cars for weapons and prohibited items.

At 2:30 something quite different happens.

A young man runs like an athlete. A second follows at a speed that indicates he is trying to catch up.

"They were chasing each other", says one of the policemen who was at the checkpoint. In the file that the police station made available and that illustrates what the police saw, Gazetasi.al is told: "Everything happened very quickly. One of them fell. He was the one being followed. The second one reached him and they started to fight. The police ran to both of them and intervened to prevent the situation from escalating and to clarify what it was about. The truth was clarified at the police station after both of them were handcuffed and escorted to testify and explain the incident.

"From the interrogation, the arrested S. L, 35 years old, was followed by the citizen KK after the latter saw the young man coming out of his neighbor's house. The citizen considered him a stranger and as soon as he saw him start to run he quickly followed.

During the search of the stranger that the young man said seemed strange, the police told Gazetasi.al that they found two pairs of sneakers hidden in his belt.

When the police asked the 20-year-old man who lives in Shqiponja square area what he noticed about the stranger, he recalled to the police: "I was returning home with some friends, when I suddenly saw that a stranger was coming out of the apartment next to my neighbor. He got worried as soon as he saw me. He was carrying a pair of sneakers that he tried to hide. I spoke to him and he ran away, which made me more suspicious as he was scared of me. He ran and I ran. When I stumbled, I threw you over and a police patrol caught us both."

But while the police also received SL's testimony, which turned out to be a thief who had no shoes, they were convinced that in reality the thief had not only stolen the neighbor of the citizen in question. The 20-year-old has just seen the sneakers according to the dynamics mentioned in the fascicle and called.

"One pair of sneakers are mine, the others must be the neighbor's. The whole family was in our apartment, but apparently they were sleeping and my sneakers were on the outside door", explains the young man who played the role of the police in this case.

According to the file that Gazetasi.al showed you, the thief surprised the police with a version that was not believed at all by the blue uniforms. On the contrary, his testimony made the policemen laugh.

He says: "I was upset, I didn't have my family at home. While I was walking around Tirana drunk, I saw a pair of sneakers, then another pair. When I saw some young guys coming I regretted and wanted to go back and leave them where they were. But it was too late, one of them got behind me and when I ran, he ran after me".

The police tell Gazetasi.al that the thief not only lies with the alibi of alcohol and humor but also with the list of causes.

"It is not true, we checked his family situation, the thief is single, he has no children and no wife," the officer who investigated the incident wrote in the file.

After all actions have been closed, he was arrested for theft, while his parents, with whom he lives in Tirana, were notified./ Gazeta Si
