An Italian-Albanian criminal group that ran a chain of restaurants in Italy has been hit.

According to the Italian media, there are nine suspects, including the former goalkeeper of Fiorentina and Napoli, Giuseppe Taglialatela, 55 years old, now the legal representative of Ischia Calcio, Alessandro Bigi, 49 years old Florentine and Eluert Kamami 40 years old.

The eight restaurants in the center of Florence that were used for money laundering were found after an investigation by the DDA in collaboration with SPAK.

The group, through money laundering, reinvested in the purchase of other premises.

Investigators believe the group has managed to buy 31 restaurants from 2012 to date, most in central Florence, two hotels, car rental businesses and a brewery for around 13.5 million euros.

Ischia Calcio and Il Cavallino restaurants in Piazza della Signoria were considered a kind of base where dirty money flowed.

The restaurants Trattoria Giovanni, La Bistecca Osteria Fiorentina, Ponte Vecchio, Bistecchia Santa Croce, Trattoria de Pitti, Osteria Lungarno and Orcagna belong to companies managed by Eluert Kamami or Bigi.

Kamami and Bigi did not issue the relevant invoices to the restaurants they managed.

At the moment, the financiers believe that the group has spent about one and a half million euros in cash.

According to the investigators, the leaders of the Kamami and Bigi criminal organization also bought three Ferraris, jewelry, gold bars and diamonds.

The former goalkeeper must also answer to the court for invoices of around 80,000 euros issued by the Ischia football club to a Naples club.
