The mayor of Mallakastra Qerim Ismailaj has been sentenced by GJKKO to 150 hours of probation.

He appeared this Thursday in the Special Court in connection with the investigations into the concealment of the 3-year prison sentence in Greece.

In October last year, Qerimaj was charged with the criminal offense of forging stamps and forms.

After successive postponements, the court today announced the decision against the official.

The Special Prosecutor's Office (SPAK) demanded 1 year in prison for the mayor of Mallakastra, while accepting his request for a shortened trial.

Investigations against the mayor of Mallakastra began with a denunciation by the Democratic Party, while the General Prosecutor's Office concluded that the local elected official was sentenced to three years in prison in Greece.

According to the Prosecutor's Office, Ismailaj did not declare this fact in the decriminalization form, and for this the SPAK demanded his sentence of 1 year in prison.

Earlier, Greece confirmed by letter the criminal proceedings and the punishment of Ismailaj, where it turns out that he was aware of the proceedings against him and signed documents on the Greek side.

Meanwhile, publicly, Ismailaj has declared that he had no knowledge and the proceedings were carried out in absentia.
