A court in Great Britain has imposed a sentence of 6 months in prison and deportation to his homeland for an Albanian who was caught on a cannabis farm in Ashington, Northumberland.
26-year-old Mahmut Selimaj was caught cultivating 173 cannabis roots inside the apartment. He tried to get away from the police by climbing onto the roof, but was handcuffed moments after the chase.
Selimaj, who entered Britain illegally, told the judge he was in debt to the traffickers who brought him, and was forced to work to pay them back.
But the judge responded by saying that "this is a tale you hear often". He decided the punishment and deportation of Selimaj to Albania.
