Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha reacted strongly to the call of journalist Elton Qyno to SPAK, where he was interrogated by prosecutors for several hours.

Berisha has used this opportunity to attack SPAK, calling it a criminal organization of the narco-party.

Berisha says that SPAK is holding Qyno hostage and is inflicting terror and psychological torture on him, asking him "brutally" to reveal the sources of the information.

It is suspected that Qyno was summoned to SPAK regarding the publication of the testimony of the repentant justice Nuredin Dumani in the media. At that time SPAK asked the journalist in writing to stop the publication as it risked disrupting the investigations.

Dear friends, in a real assassination attempt on the freedom of the media and unparalleled terror and psychological torture, irresponsible narco-party scapists keep the well-known journalist of Ora Nea locked in the offices of Skapit since 10:00 in the morning, Elton Qyno. They brutally ask him to show the sources of the information that they themselves sell.

I strongly condemn this criminal act, the hostage-taking of the journalist Qyno, and demand his immediate release as well as the strict legal punishment of the authors of this act, which constitutes a serious attack on the freedom of the media and state kidnapping of the journalist Elton Qyno.

He calls on the national and international media as well as organizations dealing with media freedom to stand in solidarity with the journalist Qyno and strongly condemn the narco-regime of Tirana and the scapegoat as its tool.
