Breastfeeding in public is an act that is not often seen in our country, referring to public figures.

The director of the Opera and Ballet Theater, the violinist Abigela Voshtina, appeared for the first time among the spectators as a mother, feeding her son Enean, while attending the Gjirokastra Festival.

The artist has been running one of the most important art institutions for a year, which she follows in parallel with her commitment as a young mother. During 8 days, the Gjirokastra Festival gathered 120 performers from all Albanian regions.

The best of songs, dances, rites, traditional costumes were seen on the stage, being enriched with other activities that also affected handicrafts, cuisine and local heritage.

In this great event, Abigela Voshtina became part of the promotion of Albanian folklore. We remind here that after 8 years, the 11th edition of the National Folk Festival returned to Gjirokastër, with a potpourri of songs, dances and rituals, a parade of folk costumes from all parts of Albania and the diaspora.

Prime Minister Edi Rama even shared photos from the first night of the Festival, the biggest event of Albanian music and dance.
