Alfred Karaj, co-owner with Përparim Rrajë in the quarry in Borizane in Krujë, revealed in an interview their clash with members of the Maya tribe.
In his version, Karaj claims that Bilibil Maja made the denunciations in order to benefit from them.
He said in an interview for " Euronews Albania " that the quarry respects the distances with the village and the residents have never complained. Karaj added that after the first conflict with the Maya tribe, Bilbili was employed in the quarry, but seeing the intensity of the work, he wanted to get more money and therefore threatened the workers to stop working.
"This conflict is between two or three people who seek to benefit without working, to come and receive a salary and leave. I get along very well with the residents of Borizana, and I even have employees. This is a problem of one person, who gathers two or three people back and is called Bilbil Maja and comes and blackmails the workers. He hit my workers two or three times at the construction site. Bilbil Maja came with a gun together with Jashar Maja and took two workers in the car with a machine gun and threatened them.
I didn't denounce them because I didn't want to cause a bigger conflict. I didn't want to aggravate the situation because the village is friendly. Bilbil Maja's house is 800 meters from here. Bilbil Maja has come to get some pieces. We managed to make an agreement when we did the first conflict. He told me to put me to work to wet the road, I said come on, start working and set your own salary. He saw a lot of trucks and he didn't see a lot of work and somewhere his appetite grew for some more work or some more money. He refused and said you made a noise. Whatever noise the ministry comes to measure, I respect the distances. My employees feel threatened because he comes here and insults and threatens them.
I didn't make any complaints, I tried to solve it myself with company and friendship. If this quarry will create 1% of problems for the village, I sign before the media that I will remove the quarry", said Karaj.
