Police have arrested a 40-year-old man at Rinas Airport, who attempted to enter Albania with a false identity.

The Rinas Border Police Services have determined at the entrance to Albania that citizen Eduart Isaku , 40 years old, who was traveling from Madrid, had presented false identity documents (with the surname Ermir Isaku ).

Further verifications and the exchange of information in real time between INTERPOL structures resulted in the fact that this citizen was internationally wanted, after the Florence Court of Appeal, in 2018, sentenced him to 5 years in prison for the criminal offense of " Theft by force ", committed within the framework of a criminal organization.

This citizen was provisionally arrested and Interpol Tirana and Interpol Rome are cooperating for his extradition to Italy.

Police announcement:

The 40-year-old attempted to enter Albania with a false identity after being convicted in Italy. He was provisionally arrested for extradition purposes.

The 40-year-old was sentenced to 5 years in prison for participating in a criminal organization and for robbery with violence.

During detailed interviews, carried out at the entrance/exit of Albania, with the aim of preventing and cracking down on illegalities at the border, as well as attempts to cross the border illegally, the Rinas Border Police services have determined at the entrance to Albania that citizen Eduart Isaku, 40 years old, who was traveling from Madrid, had presented false identity documents (with the surname Ermir Isaku).
