The prestigious show 'World Question' comes to Albania, the BBC

The prestigious BBC World Questions program arrives in Albania. Under the moderation of journalist Jonny Dymond, 4 panelists, politicians, analysts and activists will answer the questions of the public, who will broadcast the Albanian reality through the questions.

The program has a very wide world audience, representing a good showcase for Albania and of course also for the guests, one of whom is Lulzim Basha, head of the Euro-Atlantic Democrats. This seems to have worried his opponents groups in the majority and the opposition quite a bit.

In an interview for a Zero Zone on Top News, the BBC journalist is asked about the selection of Lulzim Basha as part of the prestigious panel, adding that there was a debate on the matter, which shows the frantic efforts not to waste time on it hit the head of the Euro-Atlantic, whose promotion in the prestigious international media breaks the siege that is made every day in the local media.

But after the McGonigal scandal, the head of the FBI that was used by the majority to impeach Lulzim Basha, this attempt to anathema through attacks sponsored by interest groups in Albania seems completely irrelevant and childish, which only increases Basha's values.

In his response to the journalist of Top News, Geriola Hate, Jonny Dymond, defends the selection of Lulzim Basha because he calls him a high national and international figure.

Excerpt from the interview:

Geriola Hate : Let's move on to the difficult questions. There have been reactions from Lulzim Basha on social networks, because of the fact that he is on the panel. What was your criterion in the selection of the panel and what was the reason that Basha was chosen and not someone else from the factions of the Democratic Party?

Jonny Dymond, BBC:  There should always be a representative of the government, which we have, and we definitely need a representative of the opposition. The latter has changed, so to speak. There have been many cases in and out of court.

Lulzim Basha is a high national and international figure, he was also the mayor of Tirana. He has excellent English and I am sure he will represent the opposition broadly against the government as well as representing his own part of the opposition. For us, it was a very difficult decision and in a sense, we were never going to be 100% correct.

I understand the criticism and concerns, but in the end a decision has to be made. Due to his seniority and representation in the country, since he is part of the opposition, we judged that he was the right person for this. I understand some disagree, but this is emissions, not nuclear physics. It's art, not science. I understand the disagreement, but it's a long-thought-out decision and we're glad he's on the panel.

Geriola Hate  Have you had contact with people from Sali Berisha's faction, or other parts of the opposition? Were there discussions between them?

BBC reporter:  Yes, there was. We also contacted Sali Berisha's team and clarified the decision made, because he is under house arrest and cannot join us. Since we started researching the program, he's been under house arrest. It's still there, so it can't come.

But its members and sympathizers were very open. We sent you every information. They can come to the program, be part of the audience. We have not excluded them at all.
