Criminology professor Ervin Karamuço, invited to ABC , showed alarming figures on the increase in demand for the use of various drugs in Albania. According to him, the demand has increased by about 40-50 percent, and the main victims are the schools, but also the Albanian public administration.
According to him , " the number of users who are arrested has increased greatly, from 17 to 21 years old , " because according to him, they do not project themselves to be distributors, but remain debtors.
But a danger is not only for schools, but also for the Albanian public administration. According to criminology professor Ervin Karamuço, 'Albanian public administration is also affected by drugs, and should be tested regularly, as happens in the USA or other Western countries.
For the criminalistics expert Karamuço, ' a mayor in the south of Albania, uses drugs, cocaine, has created emotional disturbances of the personality, which have also been verified by his subordinates' , therefore measures must definitely be taken for the state administration, the guards, we must have public whistleblowers for this aspect as well.
We clashed strongly, with special structures of the state police, but we do not know what is done with the other state administration, the civil one , said Karamuço. According to him, until now we have had institutional regulations not to use alcohol, although alcohol continues to be used in public institutions, but now we have reached a higher level, drug addicts have become a concern.
