Ogerta Manastirliu and Anuela Ristani

A fierce internal struggle is taking place for the "brakes" of the Municipality of Tirana. The arrest and imprisonment of Mayor Erion Veliaj has brought a wave of movements and influences to the largest municipality in the country. The situation is very tense, where everyone is trying to show their strength.

The trust that Prime Minister Edi Rama gave to Deputy Mayor Anuela Ristani raised her a little in importance, but the "hyenas" and other powerful people within the majority have started to attack her from all sides. Initially, her husband, who works at the Presidency, was anathema, and then there was a wave of attacks on Ristani, who heads the municipality.

Everything seems to be an "orchestration" of attacks, but not by the opposition, which is very tired and crushed by the parliamentary elections. The strong majority clans have begun frontal attacks on Anuela Ristani, who, not being at the forefront of these attacks, is feeling inferior and without any protection.

Now, the "reins" of the Municipality of Tirana are being attempted by Ogerta Manastirliu, Minister of Education and Sports. Previously, Ogerta worked in the Municipality of Tirana during the time of Edi Rama. After Veliaj's imprisonment, Manastirliu was one of the 4 political leaders of the Socialist Party in Tirana for the parliamentary elections, while now she intends to make Belinda Balluku an "opposition" as well.

But, who is Manastirliu's first "prey"?!

EXCLUSIVE/ Manastirliu dismisses sister Anuela Ristan from the Polytechnic.
Facsimile: Appointment of Ms. Adriana Ristani as Chair of the Board of Administration at the Polytechnic University of Tirana

On April 4, 2021, the Ministry of Education and Sports delegated Ms. Adriana Ristani, sister of Anuela Ristani (at that time she was not acting mayor), as a representative at the Polytechnic University of Tirana. Ms. Adriana came from a long career in education, while at that time she was not appointed due to her sister's position.

Years passed and Ogerta Manastirliu, who had long headed the Ministry of Health, was appointed as the head of the Ministry of Education and Sports. Everyone has heard and read about Manastirliu's "deeds" or scandals in healthcare, but in this article we will focus on her actions as Minister of Education.

Sources from the Polytechnic University of Tirana told the editorial staff of VoxNews that a few days ago, with a sudden order, Minister Ogerta Manastirliu dismissed from her post Mrs. Adriana Ristani, the sister of the acting mayor of Tirana. The dismissal did not come as a result of Mrs. Adriana Ristani's management and decision-making at the University, but as a pure "revenge" by Manastirliu.

The dismissal came without any warning, even at a time when the University is on the verge of closing the academic year and is preparing for the next year, which begins at the end of October. The moment of the dismissal coincides with the fierce struggle of influences of the majority clans in the Municipality of Tirana, where Manastirliu is trying to "capture" the acting mayor, in order to extend his tentacles to the leadership positions.

It seems that even Prime Minister Rama's meetings with the directors in that municipality have come as a result of this "war", where everyone is trying to get a "piece of the cake", left empty after Veliaj's imprisonment. It seems that Manastirliu's action to take revenge on the relatives of the acting mayor is a "kick below the belt" and not at all moral. And, the war seems to have just begun ...
