Prenga has admitted the authorship of the two weapons, although they were not caught on his body but in the internal structure of the car. Prenga is known to have claimed that on the day he was arrested by the police, he found two firearms, pistols, on the street. He took them and put them in the car of former MP Mark Frroku.

According to Prenga, his goal was to take the weapons to the police and surrender them. But such a plan could not be carried out by him. He said that while he was going to the police station to hand over the two weapons found on the street, the police intervened, immediately arresting him and confiscating the two firearms.

For the judge of the case and the prosecutor, this version given by the arrested Prenga, seemed very strange and unconvincing to give him a milder security measure.

Based on this situation, but also the fact of being caught red-handed with two pistols and ammunition, Albert Prenga was left in prison by the Tirana court. Prendi's lawyers are expected to appeal the decision in the Appeal with the hope of softening the security measure from prison arrest to "house arrest".

Arrest operation

Two firearms, pistols, were found and seized in the BMË-Foristrad type car with license plate AA 008 EJ, belonging to the former deputy of the Parliament of Albania, Mark Frroku.

At the time of the intervention to control the car, the officers of police station No. 6 in Tirana and an "Eagle" team took part. The operation was coded under the name "Boulevard", where Albert Prendi was taken into custody, while according to police sources, former PKD deputy Mark Frroku was not in his car.

Prendi is suspected of serving as the personal driver of former MP Mark Frroku. The Blues of Tirana, during the control of the car on "Migjeni" street, found and seized two pistols with magazines and combat ammunition.

Albert Prendi, drove the car of the former MP Frroku, and as a result, the legal authorship of the two weapons has remained with him. But on the other hand, the firearms were seized not in Prend's body, but in the interior of the car.

The criminal police have requested the ballistic and dactyloscopic examination of the two weapons, with the sole purpose of finding out whether they were used in criminal events or not. And if these two weapons belong to other persons, who may have left biological traces or fingerprints.

During the questioning, Albert Prendi admitted the authorship of the two weapons, telling the police officers that the pistols were his and that he had found them on the street.

However, according to the police, the authorship of the two weapons will be clarified only after the results of the dactyloscopic examinations. This is not the first time when Mark Frroku is asked to check his personal car. Such a thing happened in October 2014, when a checkpoint in Kamez stopped Frroku's vehicle, in order to exercise control.

This is because the police and the Prosecutor's Office of Serious Crimes were conducting the "Viluni" operation, where they wanted to arrest the drug trafficker, Bardhok Pllanaj. Planaj hid from the police and was able to get into the car of the deputy of the assembly at that time, Mark Frroku.

Although the police requested the escort of Bardhok Pllanaj to the police, the Blues were detained by Frroku, who used the parliamentary immunity mechanism and then left. Meanwhile, the blue uniforms of that time, who were ordered to arrest Bardhok Pllanaj, have not been able to do anything, even to follow Mark Frroku's car, in order to arrest Bardhok Pllanaj.
