The Court of Kukes has imposed house arrest for 57-year-old Xh. Sopaj, who unregistered from the civil status a daughter who was never born to him.

According to the investigation file, in 2002, in order to benefit from economic assistance of 40 thousand lek, Sopaj managed to register the child even though everything was fictitious. Even the name Arjola Sopaj was written on the certificate.

For this procedure, he provided a birth certificate dated November 13 signed by a doctor of that time. With the completion of the documents, the financial benefit also started. But when he turned 19, the financial benefit was stopped, so the father started the procedures with other documents to declare him dead and deregister him.

After discovering the incident, the prosecutor's office also interrogated the doctor, but it is learned that he denied issuing a death certificate. Even the owner of the funeral service stated that he did not issue a coupon or perform services for the case in question, raising suspicions that the signatures and seals used were forged.
