Every case of corruption that exceeds the amount of 50 thousand ALL is investigated by SPAK. But for Altin Duman, the head of the Special Anticorruption Structure, this translates into an unaffordable workload for a team of prosecutors who are still insufficient to investigate organized crime and corruption of public officials.

For this reason, it asks the legislators to see the possibility of increasing this monetary limit.

"SPAK should only focus on issues of major corruption, so we have set a limit. The sum of 50,000 lek is a limit that burdens us more and I believe that other prosecutor's offices can prosecute these cases. We have come to the conclusion that this minimum limit should be higher", said Dumani.

Invited by the Integration Council to talk about the achievements of the special structure, its head seems satisfied with the addition of 12 new financial investigators who follow cases of financial crimes and corruption.

The product of their work is the first case of seizure of the assets of a man of justice, former member of the Supreme Court, Guxim Zenelaj.

He added that technology, which is always evolving, remains very important for investigations.

"Investigating criminal offenses of corruption, concealment of wealth and false declaration is very difficult. It requires time and human resources. We face this difficulty every day.

We already have the financial investigation department, where we delegate a good part of the investigations related to corruption.

Classical investigation methods are no longer valid, they have very little value in the evidence process. The use of special investigation techniques and methods lead to successful investigations ," said Dumani.

The work of SPAK is often the subject of debate between the majority and the opposition, and this next meeting of the Integration Council was no exception, where its leaders, the democrat Jorida Tabaku and the socialist Toni Gogu, responded after the latter's statements that it is a merit of the majority that does not interfere in the work of SPAK, even though it has demanded the arrest of quite a few high-ranking officials from this political force.
