The appointment of one of Tirana's well-known imams as the head of the Mufti of the capital, Bilal Teqja, seems to make it possible to finally open the Great Mosque, or otherwise the Prayer Mosque, built where the prayer hall used to be, the corner of the Parliament, but remained without being put into operation due to a religio-political impasse between Turkey as its financier and the KMSH, directed by a caste connected to the Gülen Movement, which for Ankara is a terrorist organization.
It is precisely KMSH that announces this new development, at the head of which is actually not a Gülenist. Bujar Spahiu belongs to those formed in Egypt, in the early 90s, without having any Gülenist experience in religious formation, much less in political implications.
But what is said by KMSH?
It is said that the opening of the new mosque will go through a special foundation created for the management of this new religious cult in Tirana, which will be directed by the Mufti of Tirana, Bilal Teqja.
"The Muslim Community of Albania (KMSH) is a religious, non-political community, independent of the state, which consists of all Muslim believers residing in the territory of the Republic of Albania, who accept the basic principles of the Islamic religion. KMSH acts as a legal entity through its own bodies provided for in the law, in the act of establishment as well as in its statute.
For the realization of its goals and objectives, KMSH has the right to build mosques, cult objects and other objects for their purpose, in which religious ceremonies and rites are performed. Likewise, KMSH has the right to open cultural centers for the proper management and administration of mosques and cult objects owned by it.
With the completion of the construction of the Namazgja Mosque and its surrounding complex, an objective which has already been successfully achieved, KMSH wants to open this cult object and put it to use for the Muslim faithful as soon as possible.
Given that the Namazgja Mosque will be the largest mosque in the country, KMSH gives its consent and approves that this cult object be administered through a foundation which will be the only authority in this aspect and will have as a special purpose taking over the management, administration, operation and indefinite use of the mosque as well as the complex around it, (consisting of the parking lot, shops, restaurants, library, multi-functional halls, classrooms, fountains, ablutions, gardens and the courtyard of mosque).
The foundation is established as a non-profit organization based on law no. 8788, dated 7.5.2001 "On non-profit organizations" as amended, as well as law no. 80/2021 'On the registration of non-profit organizations' and takes the name 'Namazgja Mosque Foundation', it is organized in accordance with the act of establishment and the statute.
The Foundation is led by the Chairman of the Foundation, who is the Mufti of Tirana.
The President of the Foundation has the right to represent the Foundation before third parties and the right to sign any act related to the registration. Other duties and powers are provided for in the Foundation's statute", the announcement states.
It is now expected to see when this will happen and who will be the imam of this mosque, transformed into a religious-political saga. / teseshi.com
