The Court of First Instance in Shkodër has sentenced to 22 years in prison the citizen Lekë Vuksani, author of the murder of Petri Vuksani, an event that occurred on May 2, 2023.
In front of the black squads, the prosecution presented the evidence that implicates the 35-year-old in the crime that occurred on "Tom Kola" street in Shkodër.
During an investigation of almost 1 year, the prosecution says that Petrit Vuksani, 52 years old, who was an immigrant in England, left his apartment to the author against a monthly payment.
The victim had been back from England for about a month before the murder took place.
The cause of this serious incident was precisely the fact that the victim asked the 35-year-old Lekë Vuksani to vacate the house he had rented while he was not in Albania.
The perpetrator of the crime did not agree and it is thought that the situation worsened until the murder of 52-year-old Petrit Vuksani.
The event seems to have been premeditated, since Lekë Vuksani was armed when he went to the apartment and opened fire on the victim.
It is also reported that the suspected perpetrator was not known as a problematic person and has no criminal record.
On the other hand, the victim and the perpetrator were not related to each other despite having the same last name.
In the last months before the incident, the victim and the perpetrator have conflicted several times about the rent, water and electricity payments, which the owner Petrit Vuksani, who was killed, claimed were not paid by the tenant Lekë Vuksani.
" We are familiar with Petriti because he is also from Dukagjini. I rented his house since it was in England. In recent months, we have had several debates about the rent of the house, but also about water and electricity payments. On the day when the murder happened, Petriti came and took me out of the house. I came back and found him alone. We argued there and in the ongoing argument I found an automatic that is not mine but Petrit's. In the ongoing argument, I took the gun and shot him ", the author of the murder is said to have said.
Despite the claim that the crime weapon belongs to the victim, the police and the prosecution have evidence that the perpetrator brought the weapon with him and that it was his.
The woman to whom citizen Lekë Vuksani went to hide after the murder also gave a testimony.
The suspected perpetrator of the murder knew that area because his brother had previously rented a house opposite.
According to the woman's testimony, the 35-year-old man, after entering the apartment with a gun in his hand, told her that he will not do anything to you.
The author was arrested in this apartment after 21 hours of intensive searches, while the crime weapon was also found there.
Despite the fact that the author's defense lawyer in the senate for the security measure requested a psychological assessment, such a thing was rejected by the court, describing the author as a person without mental health problems and sentencing him to 22 years in prison.
