The UK Foreign Ministry has warned British tourists to take care of holidays in Albania, due to the situation in the fires.
The notice says that tourists should be careful not to throw cigarette butts on the road, due to the risk of fires, an offense that in case of arson is punishable by a fine up to prison.
"Fires are very dangerous and unpredictable. You must: be careful when visiting or travelling through the countryside, make sure cigarette butts are properly switched off and don't start fires or barbecues except in designated and marked areas.
"You must not leave waste," it says, warning: "Causing a fire or fire in the forest is a criminal offence in Albania. Penalties can result from fines to imprisonment. Be careful if you are in or near an area affected by fires."
The announcement also made available albanian emergency numbers such as police and firefighting.
This announcement comes at a time when our country is facing huge wildfires, as well as other countries in the region.
