The 59-year-old Greek, Christos Gialias , executed last night in Mandra of Athens in Greece with a firearm and then burned inside his vehicle, turns out to be a business owner in Albania as well.
Specifically, in 2007 he founded a company based in Labinot Fushë of Elbasan .
The object of this company's activity is the wholesale and retail trade of various industrial goods, household appliances, passenger transport, hotel and bar. According to Greek media, the 59-year-old allegedly owns property in Tirana as well.
Contrary to what was reported yesterday that his Albanian wife was killed years ago, the precise information in the last few hours indicates that in 2018 his Greek ex-wife, Frederiki Karzi , was executed with a gun .
Among the perpetrators of the murder then was an Albanian citizen, who had previously escaped from prison and the motive of the incident was robbery.
When the murder happened, Gialias had broken up with the Greek citizen and started a relationship with an Albanian citizen from Librazhdi, with whom he continued to be in a relationship despite a separation, which is suspected to be fictitious, registered several years ago.
Gialias turns out to be the owner of large businesses in Greece, where around 4,000 people are employed, many of them Albanians. It is learned that he traveled with bodyguards, Albanian citizens, who were not with him at the time of the murder.
Gialias has a criminal record, as large quantities of weapons, mainly " Kalashnikovs ", were found on him.
He also has precedents in the field of narcotics, as well as in the illegal employment of workers from Pakistan in Greece.
The suspicions of the police until now are related to the smuggling of cigarettes, because of which many heads of the Greek mafia have been executed in recent years.
After these murders, the police found connections between citizens from Eastern Europe and Albania, but other lines of investigation are not excluded.
Yesterday evening it was announced that another associate of Gialia was killed on November 31, 2023. It is about the 56-year-old from Berat, Thimi Drobonik alias Thimi Prifti .
He was executed in the "Palio Faliro" of Athens and his murder remains unsolved. It is not known if the events are related to each other, but there are suspicions that through a Greek cousin of his, Gialias supplied Drobonik with cigarettes.
The latter had criminal records in this field but also in the cocaine trade. Even Gialias carried out trade with containers from Latin America, but there is still no indication of any illegal transport of narcotics inside them./ Protothema
