The police of Shkodra have dismantled another 38 cameras placed by criminal groups in the city, bringing the number of cameras dismantled as part of operation "Fijet" to 59 cameras.

According to the authorities, the cameras were placed in the neighborhoods "Guerrile", "Salo Halili" and "Kongresi i Përmet", in order to provide information for criminal purposes, as well as to monitor the movements of the Police.

While the 21 cameras dismantled earlier were placed from the "5 Heroes" roundabout to the first roundabout of the Shkodra bypass and from the "5 Heroes" roundabout to the Dobraci roundabout.

The police have not yet discovered who installed these cameras.

38 other cameras that served to inform the criminal contingent were identified and dismantled by the Police. The cameras were installed in 3 highly frequented neighborhoods of the city.

Within a few days, the operational plan "Fijet" dismantled 59 cameras. Special investigative teams continue their work, with the aim of identifying their owners and fully documenting the legal purpose of use.

The investigative structures of DVP Shkodër, in implementation of the tasks defined within the intensive police operational plan, coded "Fijet", supported by information intelligence, for the placement of several cameras, in highly frequented areas of Shkodër district, specifically in "Guerrile", "Salo Halili" and "Kongresi i Përmet" neighborhoods, in order to provide information for criminal purposes, as well as to monitor the movements of the Police, have organized the work to dismantle these cameras, identify their owners and full legal documentation of the purpose of use.

Supported by the operational services and those of the Special Force "Shqiponja", the investigative structures of DVP Shkodër have dismantled and seized 38 other suspected cameras connected to various mobile devices, which were found to be installed in the "Guerrile" neighborhoods. Salo Halili" and "Përmet Congress", Shkodër.

The seized cameras were installed without the relevant permission of the competent bodies. Their placement is contrary to the law 9887, dated 10.03.2008 "On the protection of personal data" and constitutes the criminal offense "Unjust interference in private life", which is provided by article 121 of the Criminal Code.

In cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office at the Shkodër Judicial District Court, intensive work continues to identify the citizens who have installed these cameras, as well as to fully clarify the purpose of their installation.
