A day after the dismissal of Ilir Proda from the position of General Director of the State Police, Sali Berisha also reacted, revealing the scenario behind Prime Minister Rama's decision.
According to Berisha, Ilir Proda was fired after failing to protect the villa of the dictator, Enver Hoxha, which was attacked with Molotov cocktails by protesters at an opposition rally on February 28.
Berisha also commented on Sokol Bizhga, who was appointed in place of Ilir Proda.
The leading democrat describes Bizga as a fierce enemy, saying that he should be sentenced to 30 years in prison for betraying his friend.
"A fierce enemy, a traitor to his comrade-in-arms, to his colleague who was burned alive in a car, Gjergj Mehmeti, and he escaped. This is a traitor who deserves to be punished for high treason against his comrade, at least 30 years. That's why Rama put him in. He removed Proda because he didn't protect Enver's villa and used this against the opposition. The opposition has him condemned," said Berisha when asked about the dismissal of Proda and the command of Bizhga.
