A banner in support of the elected mayor of Himara, Fredi Beleri, appeared at the protest of the "Re-establishment" group.
The protest started a few moments ago, while several thousand citizens gathered at the boulevard "Dëshmorët e Kombit", in front of the Prime Minister's Office.
The banner for Beleri, who ran with the "Berisha-Meta" coalition, is written in English.
Beleri remains imprisoned on the charge of electoral corruption after he tried to buy votes against sums of money. The prosecution requested 2 years in prison for him.
Beleri has also been accused of participating in the armed attack by terrorists of the Greek organization "MAVI" on a military post in Gjirokastër. He has been convicted by the court for trampling Albanian national symbols and displaying extremist symbols that call for the occupation of the south of Albania.
