The driver who fatally hit two minors playing in Durrës is arrested, the

Durrës Police have reacted to the tragic event recorded this Sunday in one of the neighborhoods of the coastal city, where unfortunately two minor children lost their lives, while another was seriously injured.

Through an official response, the Police have confirmed that unfortunately the two minors were unable to survive the injuries sustained as a result of the collision with a vehicle driven by the 57-year-old man with the initials NR.

Meanwhile, their friend, about 10 years old, is being urgently transported to the Trauma Hospital as his health condition is serious.

As for the driver, the officers were able to arrest him and escort him to the police station.

A 57-year-old man with the initials NR, at around 2:20 PM, hit three minor children, around 10 years old, who were playing with a ball in their neighborhood no. 15 in the coastal city, with his "Benz" vehicle.

Unfortunately, two of them could not survive the collision and died on the spot, while the third child is in critical condition.

The investigation team is at the scene and is working to fully clarify the circumstances of the accident.

"Around 14:20, in neighborhood no. 15, in Durrës, a vehicle driven by citizen NR, about 57 years old, hit three minor children, about 10 years old.

As a result of the accident, two of the minors lost their lives, while the other minor is in serious condition and is being transported for more specialized assistance in Tirana.

The driver of the vehicle was taken to the police station for further action.

"The investigation team is at the scene and is working to fully clarify the circumstances of the accident," the Police statement said.
