Among the 38 people arrested for conspiracy by Venezuelan authorities is Albanian Enid Kasmi.

Of the 38 arrested, 21 are Venezuelan citizens, while 17 others are Ukrainian and Mexican citizens.

According to Venezuelan media, Kasmi received payments from the United States to carry out destabilizing and violent actions.

President Nicolas Maduro himself leveled accusations against the Albanian mafia when he said they had a plan to sabotage the regional and legislative elections next Sunday in the Caribbean country.

"The Albanian mafia, which rules Ecuador, sent some of its trained mercenaries to plant bombs in Venezuela. The Albanian mafia has been caught, we have them, three phones have been seized from them and they are talking," he said.

Meanwhile, the Minister of the Interior, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, denounced a new attack attempt carried out by the extremist Venezuelan opposition with the aim of destabilizing the country and sabotaging the elections scheduled for Sunday, May 25, led by Iván Simonovis, former FANB officer Arturo José Gómez Morante and opposition member María Corina Machado.

In a press conference held, the Venezuelan security official said that the group of eight locals were caught with explosive devices, "what they call electric detonators."
