The Spanish special forces 'Mossos d'Esquadra' have arrested a person with many criminal records and a long criminal history after he evaded a check in Torredembarra, in Tarragona.
The incident occurred last weekend, when ARRO agents of the Catalan police were carrying out a traffic operation, as part of the special provision for the Diada weekend, with more than 1,600 Catalan police officers distributed throughout the country, and attempted to stop a vehicle. However, when the driver saw them, he made an evasive maneuver and drove away at high speed.
To prevent his escape, agents threw spiked tape onto the road to stop him, and when the vehicle ran over it, the tires burst and the car could not continue moving.
However, this posed no obstacle to the lawbreaker, who decided to abandon the vehicle there and continue his escape on foot.
The police, however, began to pursue him, some on foot and others by car, until they managed to arrest and identify him, confirming that he was an old acquaintance of the police force.
More than 80 police records
The person, 64 years old and of Albanian nationality, has a long criminal history. From the side of the 'Mossos d'Esquadra', he has 46 police precedents, mainly for robbery and theft inside vehicles, to which are added more than 40 others from the National Police and the Civil Guard. With this arrest, he has added another to the list, as he was also caught driving a vehicle without a driving license.
Despite searches being carried out in the surrounding areas to discover whether he had thrown anything out the window before attempting to escape, the special forces found nothing.
