5 days and nights without sleep, firefighters in Kruja: We will not give up,
Altin Shullazi

Tired, exhausted and determined not to give in. Some of them even sick, all sleepless and at war with fire and time, since the day the fires appeared in Krujë.

But, with unimaginable courage. With a smile, Altin Shullazi, the commander of the firefighters helping with the fires in Kruja, refuses to give up.

5 days and nights without sleep, with sick colleagues, but everyone doesn't want to leave Kruja, the city where they were born and raised, to burn.

-How long have you been here?

Altin Shullazi: 5 days and 5 nights. We are fighting the fire in Kruja, we will not stop until it is extinguished. We are all at work.

-You are tired and exhausted, what makes you have such high morale?

Altin Shullazi: We feel sorry for this city. We were born and raised in this city, we don't want it to be destroyed.

-We have information that some of you have fevers, broken ribs, and are on antibiotics.

Altin Shullazi: Most of them have a temperature of 39-40, they are here. We will not give up until the end, until we close the last hearth of the fire.

One touches the firefighters as he shows Report TV his blackened feet and toes, because he hasn't taken off his shoes since the fires started.

"I haven't slept for a week and I haven't even taken off my shoes for several days. That's how our job is. Other colleagues also have foot injuries," says firefighter Eduarti.
