Clothes and bags smuggled in Vlora, worth 25 thousand euros, were seized.

The police inform that a 34-year-old man has been put in handcuffs, while his wife is wanted.

It is learned that in cooperation with each other they stored the contraband goods and sold them at retail illegally.

" Finalized by the Section for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes, in cooperation with the Special Operational Force, after 3 weeks of investigations, the coded police operation "Transit".

They stored suspected smuggled goods and hid the proceeds from their sale, the 34-year-old man was put in handcuffs, and efforts are being made to catch his accomplice.

Smuggled goods (clothes, bags) worth 25,000 euros are seized. Specialists of the Section for the Investigation of Economic-Financial Crimes, following the work for the prevention, identification and suppression of criminal activities in the field of goods smuggling, after 3 weeks of investigations for a case in this field, organized and finalized in cooperation with the Force of Special Operations, the coded police operation "Tranzit".

As a result of this operation, citizen AL, 34 years old, resident of Vlora, was captured and imprisoned, and citizen EB, 29 years old, resident of Vlora, was declared wanted. During the operation, the Police services carried out a control in the residence of citizen EB, in the "Uji i Ftohte" neighborhood, where they found and seized as material evidence, clothes and bags worth 25,000 euros, without accompanying tax invoices or customs declarations about their origin.

From the investigative actions, it was found that the citizen EB cooperated with the citizen AL, for the storage of suspected smuggled goods, which they sold at retail in an illegal manner.

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Vlorë, for further actions" , the police informs.
