Earthquake tremors, 8 aftershocks overnight

Albania was shaken yesterday evening by a strong earthquake, which has caused concern among citizens, mainly in the north and in Tirana.

The earthquake was felt in 4 countries, Albania, North Macedonia, Kosovo and Montenegro.

During the night, at least 8 more aftershocks with a magnitude of 2 or slightly above 2 that occurred in the Albanian territory are counted. What is noticeable is that the epicenters of the tremors are not only in the north, but also in Bilisht or Konispol.

The earthquake that occurred last evening had an intensity of around 4.7 on the Richter scale.

The epicenter of the earthquake was 25 kilometers north-east of Tirana, where the intensity is said to have been around 6.

The National Operational Center for Civil Emergencies announced that light damage was reported in the Xibër Administrative Unit, Klos Municipality, in some apartments where there were cracks in the walls.
